Telangana appoints K. Ramakrishna Rao as new Chief Secretary

 


Telangana state Government has appointed the Special Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, K. Ramakrishna Rao, of the 1991 IAS batch, as the Chief Secretary of Telangana in place of A. Santhi Kumari, who is retiring by the end of this month. As per the seniority list, six officials, including Ramakrishna Rao, were in the race for the Chief Secretary post. However, the government selected Ramakrishna Rao as the State Chief Secretary, considering his efficiency and experience. Ramakrishna Rao has been working in the Finance Department since 2014. Ramakrishna Rao played a key role in making decisions regarding finances and seeking funds from the Centre. The government issued orders appointing K. Ramakrishna Rao as the State Chief Secretary because of the present financial conditions and other factors.
