Rohit Sharma led the charge with a stellar unbeaten 76 off 45 balls, marking a return to form, while Suryakumar Yadav smashed a rapid 68 off just 30 deliveries. The duo’s explosive 114-run stand ensured a commanding victory for Mumbai Indians, with 26 balls to spare. Rohit was awarded Player of the Match, his 20th such honour in IPL history, the most by any Indian player.
In another match of the day, Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Punjab Kings by seven wickets at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Stadium in Chandigarh. Chasing the target of 158 runs, Royal Challengers Bengaluru hit 159 runs for 3 wickets in 18.5 overs. Earlier, put in to bat, Punjab Kings scored 157 runs for 6 in the stipulated 20 overs.
