In shooting, Indian shooters drew a blank at the ISSF World Cup in Lima, Peru, yesterday, with medal chances slipping in the 50 metre rifle 3 positions and skeet events.
In women’s 50 metre rifle 3p, Shriyanka Sadangi was the lone Indian finalist, finishing eighth. Sift Kaur Samra, last week’s gold medalist in Buenos Aires, failed to qualify. In the men’s event, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Niraj Kumar, and Chain Singh placed 18th to 20th in qualification.
In skeet, Raiza Dhillon finished fifth in the women’s final, becoming the first Indian shotgun finalist this year. Anant Jeet Singh Naruka placed 120th in men’s skeet qualification.
Earlier, India excelled in the air pistol. Suruchi Inder Singh and Saurabh Chaudhary won mixed team gold, while Suruchi also clinched women’s gold. Manu Bhaker and Ravinder Singh lost the mixed team bronze match to China.
