BMC speeds up cement concrete road works, lays 18,560 cubic meters of pavement quality concrete

 

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sped up cement concrete (CC) road works across the city, aiming to complete maximum roads before the 2025 monsoon. In the past week (April 17-23), 2,650 ready-mix concrete mixer trucks were used, averaging 378 trucks per day. Around 18,560 cubic meters of high-quality Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC) has been laid. Concrete roads are seen as a more durable solution compared to asphalt, offering better resistance to heavy traffic and weather changes. BMC officials are conducting frequent site inspections to ensure quality.
